  1. Thank you. But a spooky looking creature. As ever (I am no botanist or naturalist), have no idea what kind of a creature it is. I really should read the signs at the zoo that tell you – even more so because the Dutch very kindly display signs in Dutch and English. Too busy trying to get the shot of these little critters!

  2. Very nice! Looks like a young Komodo Dragon. My wife and i were at Brookfield Zoo and they didn’t want to go into the Reptile House (so stayed at the restaurant). I went in, and there were two large Komodos just lethargically resting. Then a hatch door opened and a zoo keeper threw in a couple of fully feathered dead adult chickens. The Komodos became wildly active and gobbled them up like candy. Not an animal i’d want to be near in the wild! They eat deer and huge animals! 🙂

  3. Many thanks Tom. Because of my inadequacy as a botanist/naturalist I have no idea what the creature in the image was but I classify these creatures in my mind as I take photographs. So, you have small lizard, medium lizard, big lizard and seriously big lizard. I don’t think anyone is going to offer me a wildlife shoot anytime soon!
